Palodia is a village located just 7KM north of Limassol city centre. The village is built on an altitude of 250 meters and it is near the villages of Spitalas, Paramytha and Fasoula. It is not certain about the origins of the name Palodia but one version that prevails in the village is that, when the opening of the narrow passageway between Agia Filaxios and Palodia occurred it was renamed "parodia", so Palodia was derived from this word. Leontios Machairas mentions the village with the palace, which probably is the Palodia. Palodia is famous for their honey due to the existence of thyme leaves in the surrounding hillside, as well as their pottery, which is located at the edge of the village.
